During a wedding ceremony, the wedding couple will traditionally play a song as they leave the altar area and proceed back down the aisle. These songs are known as:

  • Wedding recessional songs

  • Ceremony exit songs

  • Wedding walk-out songs

According to Google Trends for the past 12 months, the most searched-for phrase is recessional songs.

The recessional song is typically more upbeat as it signifies the couple is now officially married and at the end of the wedding ceremony!

In addition, it sets the tone for the reception that is about to begin for a fun time.

The music entertainment can continue to play the chosen song on a loop until all of the guests are out of the venue or different songs until the mass exit is complete. It really depends on the number of guests.
